Welcome To
Launceston, Tasmania – Opening February 2026!
We’re thrilled to announce that Mastery Schools Australia (MSA) has been officially approved to open a new campus in Launceston, Tasmania! This marks an exciting step in our growth as we continue to support more students across Australia who need a different kind of schooling experience.
At MSA Launceston, we specialise in supporting students in Years 3–8 who are experiencing learning difficulties or have become disengaged from their current schooling environment. Our evidence-based model, already delivering strong results in Queensland and Victoria, combines explicit instruction, structured routines, and layered support to help students re-engage, build confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.
While our initial approval is for Years 3–8, we plan to apply to extend our scope to include Years 9 and 10 in the future. This process will involve further regulatory approval, so while our long-term vision is to provide a full middle years program in Launceston, there is no guarantee at this stage. We are committed to keeping families informed as this progresses.
To help the Launceston and surrounding community learn more about our approach, we’re hosting an Information Session on 19th of November for families and educators. Please join us for our information session:
Tuesday, January 27, 2026 6:00pm – 7:00pm.
On site at our campus: University of Tasmania, Newnham Campus, Sir Raymond Ferral Centre, Building X, Newnham Drive, Newnham TAS 7248

Testimonials
I am very happy that we made the switch to Mastery Schools [Australia]. As a parent, I love that my kids come home from school enthusiastic and happy. As a neuroscientist, I appreciate that teachers use evidence-based teaching methods. The individualised learning plans for all of my children have supported them to catch up in subjects they needed help with – and to be extended in subjects they excel at. This has meant that my children feel confident, accomplished, and their academic progress is clear. The teachers keep the class environment nurturing, supportive, and friendly – and my children are blossoming.
MSA Parent
“My son attended MSA last year. He moved up 3 years of reading in that 1 year! He is now a year ahead in maths. MSA get what these kids need. His confidence has increased and as a family we have a huge amount of relief knowing he is going to be OK.”
MSA Alumni Parent 2025
“MSA is the first school where I’ve really felt welcome. Everyone is friends with each other. Everyone’s super kind and respectful. No one makes fun of or judges each other for their skills. The teachers are super kind and helpful. Easily the best school ever!”
MSA Student 2025
“Thank you for giving us back our beautiful daughter. She’s always sharing how much she loves her school, her teachers, and everything she gets to be part of each day. We’re grateful for the joy and transformation you’ve brought to her life—and ours.”
